At the XEL Foundation, we believe in a better tomorrow for individuals and families impacted by autism. In 2024, Dr. Richard Frye and his team made incredible strides, pushing the boundaries of what we know and how we address these challenges. This progressive research and innovative approaches are the reason for our mission in to making a difference in the future of so many.
One of Dr. Frye’s most exciting achievements has been the development of the Parent Examiner Social Interaction (PEOSI) test. This tool is designed to better understand social and language abilities during clinical trials. By providing a clearer, real-world picture of everyday behaviors, the test helps create more effective ways to access and improve social interaction—an area that many families hope to see grow in their loved ones.
We’re also thrilled about Dr. Frye’s progress in uncovering the critical role of folate in neurodevelopment. His findings show how abnormalities in the folate pathway impact children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and how these blocks can be overcome with leucovorin treatment. The research? Life changing improvements for individuals and their families. Beyond autism, these discoveries are opening doors to help individuals with Down Syndrome, epilepsy, and other developmental conditions.
Looking ahead, we are eager to see what’s next. From expanding our understanding of folate receptor alpha antibodies to uncovering new biomarkers and refining therapeutic approaches, the work in progress is inspiring. Each breakthrough brings us closer to effective solutions that transform lives.
The XEL Foundation remains committed to supporting this essential work, standing by Dr. Frye and bringing hope to families around the world. We are so proud and excited to share this incredible momentum. Thank you to everyone who supports the XEL Foundation and helps make these advancements possible. LEX continue to XEL forward, together.
